Property team strengthens with new senior hires

We pride ourselves on not only our leading products, but also our team of specialists, their deep sector knowledge, who each bring a breadth of expertise to the business. As we look to expand capabilities, we welcome three new members to our property underwriting team. With a good underwriting environment and plenty of opportunities, these appointments could not have come at a more perfect time.

Firstly, we welcome Dan Black, who joins as a Senior Underwriter from another leading global insurer, where he worked for over a decade in the Global Direct and Facultative property team.

Joining Dan is Sarah Reeve, who will take on the role of Senior Underwriter. She joins us with over 13 years’ global property underwriting experience, bringing a wealth of international market knowledge to the role, in particular in heavy industry.

Later this month, they will be joined by Olly Durell, as a Senior Property Underwriter. He joins the team from a leading FTSE 250 insurer. Olly will write a global book as well as onshore energy business.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Alastair Blades, commented: “We write a global book of D&F property business though Lloyd’s and these senior underwriting additions will certainly add strength and depth to an already experienced and successful team. As our recent underwriting results have shown, we operate a robust and profitable business with a consistent approach to our brokers and clients. We call this ‘Intelligent Underwriting’ and with Dan, Sarah, and Olly joining W/R/B with their impressive track records and reputations within the market, we will be perfectly positioned to maximise our already strong market position. I wish them all the best of luck in their new roles with us.”
